Power loss recovery

Re: Power Loss Recovery and Power Supply Question
I am trying to building a 3D printer with the power loss recovery feature.
Is it possible to wire the capacitor to the leads that act as Vin and ground for the board ?
It has been said in an older post that the capacitor should be 10000uF rated at 35V.
Is there any wiring diagram that can be followed.
Thanks,
Hussain. -
Yes you can do that. However, if you are using a typical 24V power supply then it probably has a spare set of output terminals wired in parallel with the ones you are using to feed the Duet, and it's simpler to connect the capacitor to those spare terminals.

so if I understood correctly,
when the power fails, the capacitor connected would discharge and power the other terminals ??

Yes, that's correct for a standard 24V PSU with 2 or 3 sets of output terminals connected in parallel. It may not be true for a 12V ATX PSU because those sometimes have multiple independent 12V outputs.
