Duet V0.8.5 LED on power up

Hi all
I have a question regarding the LED lights while powered up.
While being powered up via vin the 3.3, 5 and vin leds light as they should but I also get a red fan led come on also, is that nornal…I ave nothing else.plugged in the board except psu and ethernet.

Fan0 should be off, and if you haven't changed fan1 settings, it should be off until the hotend temp reaches 45c.

I think the fan 1 LED will come on if you have no thermistors connected. It defaults to thermostatic mode, and if any of the heaters it monitors is showing an error (e.g. because no thermistor is connected), the firmware plays safe and turns the fan on. If you send M106 P1 H-1 then it should turn off.

Thanks both, thats what it was, I only had the bed thermistor plugged in but hadn't yet configured it correctly.
