Threaded heatsink 3mm version
-
Hi are there any plans do a 3mm version of the threaded heatsink for the smart effector
-
You would need to ask E3D that question.
-
I have put it to them I'm waiting on a response though just thought you guys may of known
-
E3d said they have no plans to make a 3mm version unless there is enough call for it, so if you want one you need to let them know its something you want them to develope
-
I think 3mm filament is becoming less and less popular, so I don't expect we will be pushing for it.
The e3d Tool changer v6s use the screw top heatsink so that might create a market for 3mm screw top heatsinks, time will tell.

The thread is standard M12 so you can easily modify a "standard" one to threaded on a lathe.

This drawing https://ooznest.co.uk/?attachment_id=3568 shows that it has a 4.2mm diameter hole through the middle of it, so just out of curiosity why won't it work with 3mm filament?

@deckingman I would think the arrangement in the top would not be correct for a 3mm filament sized Bowden tube. Also looking at the heat break drawings, the 1.75mm heat break uses a m7x1 thread where for some reason the 3mm heat break uses an m6x1
