Which Z-probe to choose?

Hello.
I have a 230x150 aluminum heated build plate with magnets which is covered with spring steel + (I think) PEI, like this: https://www.amazon.com/Platform-Sticker-QIDI-X-pro-Printer/dp/B078HSJP7H/ref=pd_day0_hl_328_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B078HSJP7H&pd_rd_r=6aeebe4f-c014-11e8-baee-c185d6b5ce16&pd_rd_w=MIqKl&pd_rd_wg=itcT2&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=ad07871c-e646-4161-82c7-5ed0d4c85b07&pf_rd_r=C6R4VZPCRYJPE4MPPH6N&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=C6R4VZPCRYJPE4MPPH6N
Would IR sensor work on that cover or should I look into BLtouch or inductive sensor?

How thick is the PEI coating? If it's thin then the IR sensor should work well with it. If it's thick, use something else.

@dc42 Overall sheet thickness is 0.85-1.00mm with steel. So PEI should be ~0.5mm, but surface is rough and different colors (blue/white)
