Second printer

I am running a duet wifi for now 4/5 months. I am very happy with the firmware and the way it works.
I have a second printer, a mendel90 where I want to add a bed sensor but I want to keep the origin with ZMAX.Both printer are in the room where my router is.
I am thinking of adding a duet to it. but will it work with 2 printers as the name is fixed?Last, I have seen a strange behavior with the smart IR sensor. Sometime (1 time out of 20), the probe is not working and the head is hitting bed on my first printer.

2 Printers with Duet Wifi will work fine, as long as they have different name
and MAC addresswhich you can change in the config.g (M550& M540). -

Thanks, If that works, I am good.
For the sensor, I think my issue is that I am printing on glass and even if I have a black sheet below the glass, that seems to be error prone.

The Duet WiFi doesn't need the M540 command even with multiple printers because each WiFi module has a unique MAC address. The Duet 0.6/0.8.5 and the forthcoming Duet Ethernet do.
Regarding the IR sensor, what is the trigger height of your sensor (as used in your G31 command in config.g), and how thick is the glass?

Thanks for the details.
@dc42:Regarding the IR sensor, what is the trigger height of your sensor (as used in your G31 command in config.g), and how thick is the glass?
Here is what I am using
M558 P1 X0 Y0 Z1 H3 F200 T5000 ; smart IR Z probe, used for homing Z axis only, dive height 3mm, probe speed 200mm/min, travel speed 5000mm/min
G31 P500 X20.0 Y-25 Z0.20 ; set threshold and offsets -
Your Z probe trigger height is very low. When the nozzle is touching the bed, what is the separation between the bed and the bottom edge of the IR sensor board? It should be between 1 and 2mm.
How thick is the glass?

The glass is 3mm and the separation between the bed and the bottom edge of the sensor is between 2.5 and 3mm.
I am planning to move the sensor as I am unhappy with the offset, I have set it at 1mm in my future new setup.Antoine
