Duex5 and Duex2 Pre-order open
-
The long awaited Duex expansion boards are now available for pre order here:This is a relatively short pre-order as we aim to start shipping these just before Christmas if everything goes according to plan. (Although they wont be delivered before Christmas, even for UK deliveries).
The wiki page has more detail however in summary:
Duex5
-
5 additional TMC2660 stepper motor drivers with stall notification.
-
5 additional extruder heater outputs.
-
5 servo outputs with 5V power and 5V signal levels, sharing control channels with the heaters. So you can use unused heater channels to drive servos.
-
5 additional endstop inputs with indicator LEDs and 3.3V/5V voltage selection. These are also usable as outputs.
-
5 additional controlled fan outputs, also usable for driving LEDs etc. The output voltage may be switched between 5V, 12V and VIN.
-
4 uncommitted general purpose I/O pins.
-
12V switching regulator, for generating a 12V supply for fans, LEDs etc. when the VIN power is higher than 12V.
-
5 additional thermistor inputs.
-
Support for 2 more thermocouple or PT100 daughter boards, supporting up to 4 more sensors.
-
Optional 5V external power input for powering servos, fans etc.

For those of you based in the US we will do our best to get Filastruder some of these ASAP.

Just posted on Filastruder's site as well:

Done and ordered

Would it be possible to solder additional fan headers to the Duex2, as it is the same PCB as the Duex5?
-
It's the same PCB. You can solder additional headers but be aware that we are only populating the components for 2 channels on the Duex2. It's not just the headers we are leaving off.
That said the source will be available including the BOM so depending on what you wanted to add you could do so.

Just had a try at pre-ordering a DUEX5 but am confused over the pricing of it
When I try to select it it shows +82.5 for the x5 but adds this onto what appears to be a base price taking it upto 140 +Vat which is more than a DuetWiFi.
Can you confirm the actual price please.

i observed the same issue earlier today when getting a quote for possible xmas present for my 3d printer. I see now it’s fixed.
-
Apologies, it should be fixed now.

i´m totally new to the duet boards, can i use the TMC2660 on the duex5 and duex2 to run additional x,y,z motors or only E motors?
