Dual Z Endstops
-
Hi there,
i have a dual z setup. now i read some time ago that i can use two endstops (max) and calibrate the Z axis.
So my printer move the z to the top and align both z motors.
but i can not find any code for that, and how i wire the endstops.
do i need a duex for that or is is possible to use it with only duet wifi.
many thanks

You don't need a DueX if you have two Z motors and just one extruder.
You can level the bed using either a Z probe, or two Z endstop switches. The instructions for using a Z probe are at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Bed_levelling_using_multiple_independent_Z_motors. the instructions for using two separate endstop switches are not yet on the wiki, but there are several threads on this forum describing it. Basically, to do Z homing you split the Z axis into Z and U axes and home them simultaneously; then you assign both motors back to Z.
