0.9` stepper motors on 12v

Hello all.
so i have changed my 1.8 motors for 0.9 motors from think3dprint3d.
before when i had my 1.8 motors the deviation was about 0.030-0.040 but now since i have changed my motors for 0.9 ones i cant get lower than 0.100-0.099
and i suspect one of my motors is loosing steps during a print. the layer height is of close to one of the towers.
i know i should have changed to 24v but i could not wait for the psu to show up

I doubt that the change to different motors has caused the increase in calibration deviation. Perhaps you have a belt that is too loose or too tight, or a pulley grub screw that isn't tight?

i have checked all the grubscrews but they where all tight.
and the belts have been both tighter and looser. i also see when the probing is done and the head is moving out the way its skipps the steps on one of the towers.
Im using the ultibots fsr kit if that matters?

If it is skipping steps, that suggests either a hardware or wiring fault or that you are trying to move the motors too fast for the supply voltage you are using. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/Choosing_stepper_motors#How_to_work_out_the_power_supply_voltage_you_need to estimate the voltage you need to maintain torque up to your chosen travel speed.

Im still wating for my 24v powersupply. Running a 12v 120w as of now.
I also have another question would it be possible to use a voltage regulator between duet and the fans to keep them 12v? For example this one LM7812CT ?

Yes you can use a 12V regulator and feed 12V into the centre pin of the fan voltage select jumper if you want to run all your fans at 12V. However, if you have just a few axial fans then it is easier and cheap to replace them by 24V fans, which are readily available on Amazon, eBay etc. 24V blower fans are a little harder to get but there are some available, e.g. this 51mm one http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/blowers/7878960/.
