Chamber heater tuning
-
Hi all
I'm using IR heaters to heat my chamber,
I placed my temperature sensor far from heater to get perfect chamber temperature readings,
Problem is heater going to fault, stating temperature raise is too low, 0.1deg/sec
How can I overcome this issue,
I tried PID tuning but it was taking 2 hours to reach phase 3 (measuring) , and didn't complete the tuning.
Any guidance please -
@adhanabal why didn't it complete the tuning? Did it produce an error, and if so what was the message?
This may get you started. Temporarily configure the heater port as a GpOut port in M950 instead of a heater. Turn the heater on at full power and record the temperature at regular intervals, perhaps every 10 seconds, until a typical desired chamber temperature is reached. Then turn the heater off. Continue taking temperature readings until the temperature has dropped by 10C or mkre from its peak. Plot the temperature in a spreadsheet.
Look for the fastest rate of rise of temperature in the plot, which will be when the temperature is only a little above ambient. Use that value in degC/second as the R parameter in the M307 command. For the D parameter, use the time in seconds before that rate of temperature rise was achieved or nearly achieved.
