Ptfe wont come out of hotend. Very stuck in there
-
I think both my filament and ptfe tube in stuck in the hot end. No matter how hard I pull, it wont come out. The entire printer was lifting off the table!
I heated the hot end up to 250 degrees before pulling. Thats as high as it will go.
- why
- how to fiix

it's a black plastic bowden clip. I was pulling it wouldn't release. then I remembered there a clip that prevents the ptfe tube from backing out. It still won't come out. My printer hates me. I get many problems with it.
Maganged to get it out. Finally released its grip

@ageis to release the black clip you first need to remove the clip (usually blue) in the gap between it and the extruder inlet, if there is one. Then push the black clip up against the hot end to close the gap and while holding it there, pull the tube out.

@dc42
It;s happened again today. I am definately pushing on the black bowden tube clip thingy. But the tube appears to be stuck.The clip thingy doesnt seem to depress as it usually does.

@ageis What hotend? What printer? Maybe a photo?
Possibly the PTFE tube has melted in and got stuck, or heat creep has caused the filament to form a bulge that can't pass out of the hot end. You may be better extruding filament, then pulling it back once the bulge has been pushed down and melted. Or it could be that you have too much retraction, and molten filament is being pulled back and getting between the end of the PTFE tube and nozzle, forming a bulge.
To avoid in the future, try not to leave filament at temperature in the hot end for a long period of time, without extruding.
