3.5.0-rc1 not seeing canbus devices
-
Version 3.4.6 works fine, but upgrading the main board to the rc1 version (working in standalone mode) fails to find any of the Canbus devices.
Any Ideas why?

@kj3d Most likely you need to update the expansion boards' firmware, too. See https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Machine_configuration/CAN_connection#updating-duet-3-expansion-board-firmware

@droftarts Thanks for your reply. After several reboots the machine now sees the canbus devices - but running a home x (or any home cycle) comes up with an error as below
-
You were right - I updated all the boards to RC1 and its now seeing everything. In open mode its behaving well. However in closed loop mode its doing some strange things - but will try tuning using the 3.5 tool and if it continues will start another post about the strange movements in closed loop mode.

@kj3d the PID control for closed loop mode has been extensively changed in 3.5 so the PID parameters from 3.4 won't work well after upgrading the 1HCL firmware to 3.5. There are some new feedforward constants that you also need to tune.
Once tuned, you should find that the motors are much quieter in closed loop mode than with 3.4.

@dc42 - Thanks for your reply, I have tried to find some written guidance in respect to that (and the issue I am having loading the tuning tool) Please point me in the right direction !!
I have read https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Tuning/Duet_3_1HCL_tuning

@kj3d that's the correct page. The section at https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Tuning/Duet_3_1HCL_tuning#manual-tuning has separate tabs for 3.4 and 3.5 series firmware.

@dc42 - Thanks
