Known issues in firmware 3.5.0-beta.4
-
Here is a list of known issues in this beta firmware to assist those of you who are running it, and those who are considering trying it. If you encounter an issue that is not listed here, do not post in this thread, instead start a new one.
Confirmed issues
- WiFi module not working on Duet 2 or Duet 3 Mini
This affected users who downloaded new WiFi module firmware from the Github 3.5.0-beta.4 release before approximately 0900 UTC on Monday 12 July. The cause was an incorrect WiFi firmware filename.
Remedy: download and install the updated DuetWiFiFirmware.bin file now included in the Github 3.5.0-beta.4 release.
- Spurious messages of the form "Debug from 121: temp timeout on sensor 1" from CAN-connected tool boards (possibly from other CAN-connected boards too) just after startup, or when config.g is re-run.
These messages can safely be ignored.
- If M452 is used to put the machine into laser mode, movement commands may cause the main board to reset.
Probable workaround (not tested, because we haven't been able to reproduce this even though we believe we have found the cause): the first movement command after the M452 command must have an S parameter. It should be sufficient to insert command G1 S0 with no other parameters after the M452 command.
Some other potential issues are under investigation. I will update this post when we have more news of these.
