Unknown Board (probably some clone)
-
That's an interesting clone, I'll give it that.
-
@Phaedrux Looks to me like the only thing cloned is the name. A lion might be called "Leo" but giving a dog the name "Leo" doesn't make it a lion - it'll still be a dog (or a pup).
-
@deckingman that looks like Duet2 and Duex5 mushed into one board, not unlike the control board on the Formbot Troodon 1.0 (which had bigfoot style plugin drivers).
A quick reverse image search on this board goes blank, so I am intrigued, as with all rare things (-;
-
@dank0 you got a link to where you purchased this?
Also if you power it up and connect via USBserial, what does M115 yield?
-
Reverse engineering this board isn't too difficult.
All connectors are named and the endstop connectors can be used as reference to the drivers.
M0 is X-motor, M1 Y, M2 Z, then E0 and E1.
The second driver board just uses E2-E6 as reference.
As long as they took the same MCU pins for the signals as described in the Duet2 schematics, you are ready to use.Cooling those driver boards is a challenge. How do you get enough airflow to the backside?
There is a solder-repair on one of the small FETs. Did it come this way?

@o_lampe and a burnt socket for whatt looks to be Fan0
-
@Dougal1957 jumper wire from 3V to R28 too.

think that may be what @o-lampe was referring to
-
@o_lampe those driver boards seem to go sandwich on top of the main board, so it might be possible to blow air from left to right. It's not entirely clear though whether air can escape well enough with all the connectors on the board edges.
-
the voltage select for VIN / 5V for the fan banks also seems bent.

@oliof I am living in Shenzhen (I am not chinese), China and i saw this board in the used electronic store - it cost $10 CAD. So i was wondering if is somehow usable - I have two Vorons 2.4 and one Creality CR6-SE printer. I am planing to build one more printer so i was thinking to use this board with reprap to just see what it can do
-
@dank0 thats an amazing find. I would start powering it up via USB and then try to see what firmware is on there. There is a decent chance that it will run stock RepRapFirmware for the Duet2.

@Exerqtor Looks like it has a RAR - who dares to download it?
-
@elmoret Look like you need an account to download.

Not me, that's for damned sure lmao.
-
@elmoret I have a sacrificial chromebook for these things. Feel free to send me the file or the link, whatever you have at hand.
EDIT: Seems I cannot register with a non chinese number.

here is the file from the chinese website: DuetWIFI MB V1.1 Based On Duet3d 1.0.4
@Exerqtor thanks for the links

@oliof M115 returns:
FIRMWARE_NAME: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet FIRMWARE_VERSION: 3.4.5 ELECTRONICS: Duet WiFi 1.0 or 1.01 + DueX5 FIRMWARE_DATE: 2022-11-30 19:36:12 -
@dank0 Kinda impressive that they seem to have honored the open source license, at least at first glance.
