Duet 3 Mini 5+ Wifi Antenna Range?

I just received a Duet 3 Mini 5+ Wifi and have found the range of the antenna extremely weak. My board only seems to connect once I'm literally sitting next to my router. I have a Duet 2 which runs great from my basement and connects to the router, so it is not an issue of the router. Is the antenna range of the Duet 3 Mini 5+ much less than the Duet 2? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

@bpeters2 the external antenna version of the Duet 2 Wifi and the Mini 5+ use the same antenna and in more recent versions of the Duet 2 the same wifi module.
The external antenna does need to be properly seated in the small connector, please check that.

The antena must be connected to the golden circle part.

If it wasn't connected before that would definitely explain the reduced range.
