WiFi disconnect errors

@dc42 I was away for the weekend and could not try again until now. It now installed without a problem through the WebUI at first try.

Please can everyone following this thread try DuetWiFiFirmware 1.20RC4 with DuetWiFiserver 1.20RC1 and report back. The files are here https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/tree/dev/Release/Duet-WiFi/Edge. Note, after installing the new wifi firmware, you may need to power down/up and/or install DuetWiFiServer a second time (by sending M997 S1 from USB or PanelDue) before you can get a connection.

Just did a 2h print without WiFi issues and the printer was up for at ~24h without any WiFi related interruptions. Looks good so far, but my 'no connection' errors occured pretty randomly
-
Ok, so before updating to the latest RC firmwares, I was still running 1.20 beta 10 (I believe), but I did just put in a new router! This is the 3rd router I have tried using. This one is a Netgear Orbi mesh network with 1 base router and two satellites.
I continued to get the frequent and random disconnects, BUT with this new router I can click connect in DWC and it has reconnected every single time. This is a huge improvement.
I just updated to the latest RC firmwares, so now I will test some more.

and now, even after a power cycle, DWC won't connect at all.
EDIT: For some reason, after 2 power cycles the wifi module was just sitting idle. M552 S1 worked and it is connected (at least for now), but why wouldn't the M552 S1 in the config.g start the module on power up?
-
There is something about the wifi module starting up when the firmware has just been changed from the old SDK to the new one, which seems to take a few resets to sort out.
-
Ok, thats good to hear. As a positive update, it has stayed connected with NO ISSUES since I manually started the module up. I also changed the channels on the router from what they were (neither were channel 1, or others that i have seen reported as possibly problematic).
Everything seems to be going well right now. I will continue testing.

this looks like the general thread for wifi disconnection issues … How do i get the wifi module on my board to turn back on ... and what causes it to shut down?
Im mid print - it disconnected and wont connect now - waking up to an over nite print with a couple more hrs to go and no connectivity - No PanelDue
-
Today i am having the same problems, WIFI disconnection… I must reload page a lot times until the wifi conect.
Somebody with the same problem?
I have 1.21 version -

I just replied to a similar question (yours?) in another thread.

I think than my problem i this:
READ: WiFi signal strength -73dBm, reconnections 0, sleep mode modemI will search the threat where you talk about the external antena, but i am worry if i broken doing this
-
I agree, you need a better signal strength. There is a section on improving wifi signal strength at the end of the wiki page on improving wifi signal strength. An extra WiFi repeater in the room where the printer is may be the simplest option, and a repeater only costs about £20-£25.

I've been running into disconnect errors since I started using a Duet several months back. I've upgraded it (the issue has persisted through versions) and am currently running:
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later + DueX5
Firmware Version: 2.01(RTOS) (2018-07-26b2)
WiFi Server Version: 1.21
Web Interface Version: 1.21.2-dc42My signal is good (-47dBm), have no issues with other devices disconnecting (save for one IoT device that is far away from my router and disconnects expectedly), and have perused the troubleshooting steps in the other thread. It seems to generally disconnect after running commands in the console from the PanelDue, though it happens from time to time without that. I've never seen it lose WiFi during a print, only when idle. Time doesn't appear to be a factor - sometimes it drops out after 5-10 minutes from a power up, sometimes it's good and online for a day or two at a time.

When it disconnects, are you able to reconnect DWC, or not?
