    3.4.5 update slow to connect to printer

      Hi,

      I recently updated to 3.4.5. I update via the web interface. What I notice is it takes much longer to connect to the printer and have the web interface ready to go. Something that has happened before but now seems more frequent, the web control page stops loading and is blank.

      Did I leave out something in the update?

      Board: Duet 2 WiFi (2WiFi)
      Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 3.4.5 (2022-11-30)
      Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.27
      Duet Web Control 3.4.5

        I can't help answer your question, sorry, but I wonder if this is related to an issue I had, following updating to 3.4.5, in that, shortly after starting the (CNC) machine up, the browser almost immediately lost contact with the board, and the webpage 'timed out' with "unable to connect to Weeble" (the name I've given my CNC!)

        Restarting the browser didn't resolve this, but restarting the controller did - at least so far! - but I wasn't sure if the issue was caused when I plugged in the Duet CNC Pendant.

        How much time does it take to connect to the machine, and does it do it every time?

        Few things are more dangerous than taking the advice of someone who thinks he knows what he's doing.

          @Joel which version of RRF were you using before you upgraded?

          The changes between version 3.4.4 and 3.4.5 are very small, so if you upgraded from 3.4.4 then I doubt that the change in connection time was connected with the firmware upgrade.

            Pretty sure I upgraded from a 3.3 flavor, that's the last backups I have.

              @Joel I suspect the plugins take a long time to load. I have plans to load them asynchronously in 3.5, but the issue isn't as significant there because the plugin sizes have been reduced quite a bit since 3.4 anyway.
