How to change wifi printer name
-
When I connect to my first DietWifi controlled printer, it connects as duetwifi.local. When I connect to my second duet wifi controlled printer, it comes up as brutus.local (its printer name). How do I change the first printer to reflect its printer name instead of the generic name?

I have my M550 set correctly and the name shows up properly on the web interface screen. What I'm talking about is the web address. I can type brutus.local in the web address and it connects. I have to type duetwifi.local to connect to my printer named darthvader. I can't type darthvader.local to connect.

With firmware 1.18 and earlier, the WiFi name is the one you set up when you connected initially. With 1.19 it should be the one you set in M550. Read https://duet3d.com/wiki/Upgrading_to_DuetWiFiFirmware_1.19 before upgrading.

You need a P before the printer name in the M550 command, to tell the firmware that's the start of the parameter.
