This may be counter-productive. Google punishes duplicate content in search results, so users may be less likely to see either the wiki, or the forum post containing the duplicate content.

The images probably don't pose a problem, and small excerpts may not be problematic. I'd say just make it a small excerpt, and a link to continue reading on the wiki. It would probably be the best of both worlds.

Another issue I see is that as the wiki is updated, the information in the posts is not. A few posts like this is good to draw attention to the wiki, though.

Bot you have a point about duplicate content and about keeping stuff up to date. We can see how we get on, currently because CaLviNx has linked to the wiki it should be ok i think.
