Have you checked on the bigbox forums from E3D? Might find a fellow enthusiast there.

You can find a lot of info about that life style in this channel and a few others https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6SNxiLzSlh8e0yjndE9o_A
Thanks for the rabbit hole.

Thanks for the rabbit hole.
Here is a more relevant one. Would work great for remote Duet3D community support.

@zapta Do toddlers handle narrow boats well?
-
@Phaedrux Nice one, I hadn;t thought of that. I'll go and take a look.
-
@Phaedrux Not sure about that, I don't have any toddlers but there was an amusing occasion in 1978 when myself, my wife and my 3 year old daughter were hiring a boat for a couple of weeks. Every time Lyndsey ( my daughter) saw some ducks or in fact any water bird she ran below grabbed a loaf of bread and started throwing it to them saying 'Ere yar duckses eat yer butties" and just in case your a southerner or rather not a north-westener it means "Here you are ducks, eat your sandwiches". We had to laugh so much each time she did it, in fact we bought an extra four loaves of bread for her each time we were shopping... it was so funny.

@zapta Thanks but I've already been given that link. It is really good though so thanks very much for thinking of me
-
@Phaedrux Ahh so sorry, I've also been given that one too although it is very good. One I follow an awful lot because he's about my age, he suffers the same illness conditions as I do which have helped him immensely, that is depression and anxiety. Both are high on my medication list from my local doc. The Vlog that Andrew produces is Tales from the Swans Neck, which I think I may have mentioned already but it's thew name for the tiller.
I do appreciate all the help though, you guys are a godsend, not just n 3d printing but on lots of other stuff too !!

@Veti You seem to have completely misunderstood my message. If you'd asked instead of just stating that Bigbox moved away from acrylic for a reason. Yes, they did stop using acrylic, it was garbage but at the sane time they also used plywood which was extremely successful. Mine is made of ply and has never given any trouble except from the automatic software creator adding files that it shouldn't have. The files added were meant for the mini kossel and stopped the Bigbox from homing. After an enormous amount of work from Ian for which I was tremendously grateful, he found that it was down to a software problem and nothing wrong with either the Duet or the Bigbox.
Leading on from this it proved that my plywood Bigbox was an amazing piece of equipment and still is. The problem is that your comments have made a lot of potential customers who may have bought my machine turn away and in some case to an Annet ?????? oh boy'
This is Particularly Frederick. Just to let you know Frederick that Veti wasn't in possession of all the facts. Frederic, if you are interested in buying the Plywood Bigbox with Duet 2 Ethernegt and with a brand new unfitted 7" Paneldue then please get in touch with me. We can discuss prices. A comment another poster made about. Prices are what people want to pay and what seller want to accept but the eventually meet in the middle. It's a system that works very, very well, much better than going to auctions. -
Were you able to post on the E3D bigbox forums as well?
-
@Phaedrux Sorry for the late reply, you wouldn't believe how busy I've been.
Yep, I posted on E3D Bigbox forum without success but my last look for responses was 5 or 6 days ago, there may be some answers now !
I was thinking about pulling out the Duet equipment, putting RAMPS into Bigbocks in its place and selling each as separate entities. Duet and PanelDue as one and the printer as the other. I wonder which will sell first and for the most ... no, no need to wonder, the Duet will win hands down
So that's my next project, at the moment I'm ultra busy listing, packing and visiting the courier drop off shop. Once I've got rid of most of my gear I'll spend some time one the Bigbox modifications.
