PanelDue 7" - Color failure - Warrenty check for e3d
-
Hi There!
I just received a brand-new PanelDue via E3D.
Unfortunately the display looks pretty weird.
Seems like the blue-pixels are not working.
Connectors also seem to be ok. At least no visible damage.Updated firmware via Bossa to v1.24 --> No Change.
Do u have any recommendations what else to check?
Otherwise I would like to send the display back to E3D in exchange for a new one.
Thanks a lot!
regards

That could mean a hardware fault, or it could mean that the PanelDue has the wrong firmware installed. From your photo I see that it is a 7i. Which firmware binary did you install?
-
Thanks for the fast reply.
Firmware: PanelDue-v3-7.0.bin
Thanks! -

try the 5-7i one https://github.com/Duet3D/PanelDueFirmware/releases/download/1.24/PanelDue-5.0i-7.0i.bin

Perfect! - 5-7i Firmware works fine! - Thanks again
Sorry for the unnecessary question. I should have tried the other version before.

No worries, easy to miss the little i in the filename (..I would know!) - all that ends well and all that jazz!

Good luck with getting sense out of E3D at the moment...
I requested a return on three of these fancy new "nozzle x's" that dont do what they advertise them as doing.
They tried and tried to give me the run around for ages.
Nothing would budge them to accept my return request, until I mentioned the words charge back, Oxfordshire trading standards and quoted them the distance selling regulations.
Suddenly they were all apologetic and told me how to facilitate my return request.
funny that....

maybe adding thumbnails of the actual screens can help reduce the number of people who pick the wrong file? then again its not so many, might not be worth the effort?
