Extending the E3D V6 hotend heater wire to E0 - What gauge?

Hi All - First time caller, long time reader…

I have a D-Bot, and the E3D V6 heater wire was never long enough. I soldered on some 14ga wire, and RAMPS did not have an issue with the wire. But the Duet WiFi seems to need smaller gauge wire. What wire size works with the E0 connector block? And will I be good to extend the E3D V6 the 1.5 feet / 45 centimeters with it?

Is it a 12V or a 24V hot end?

Yes, it is the 12v model.

I put the figures into http://circuitcalculator.com/wordpress/2007/09/20/wire-parameter-calculator/ and 22awg looks sufficient.
