Smart Effector not flashing on startup

I have been using a smart effector successfully on a Kossel XL for some time. Today when I started printing the probe light did not flash at all. The lighting LEDs and the heating LED worked and I can print as normal. The connectors to the smart effector look OK so the next step will be to take it all apart Has anyone a better idea?

If the green LED doesn't flash at all, the most likely reason is a bad crimp connection in the +3.3V or ground pin on the 8-way connector.
