Thermocouple control for heated bed
-
Is it possible to use a k type thermocouple to control a heated bed? The heated bed is currently controlled by a thermistor and the difference between the actual temperature and the set temperature is considerable of up to 30 degrees when running at 150 degrees. Obviously i could just increase the set point but i would prefer to control it by the board.

Yes a thermocouple would work just fine for the bed, but if your thermistor is off, that probably means the parameters for it are off.
What kind of thermistor is it? What values are you using for it?

chinese B3950 thermistors can be tricky at higher temperatures. as the B3950 only refers to the range of 25-50C. and different ones behave differently at higher temperatures.
the thermistors sold by e3d (semitec) as well tested on the duet and provide accurate results.
pt1000 on a duet wifi should also be good for a bed.
