Controlling external Thyristor with Duet 2 Wifi V1.04

Hi Guys,
I'm busy building a rather large 3D printer. I couldn't find a 24v heated bed big enough and at a reasonable price so settled on going with a 220V silicon pad. I mistakenly purchased a Thyristor, thinking it would suit my needs, when I should have purchased a Solid state relay that can operate directly off the heated bed output. Looking around now, no one seems to have stock of them (The SSR's) so would will have to make do with the thyristor for now.
The max current my pad should use is 3.41 Amp.
This is the thyristor I purchased
Specs on the board are:
VAC AC 220V/5A: peak 10A
Operating voltage: 3.3V/5V
Signal level: DC 3.3V/5V 10mA
Thyristor BTA16: 600B
Optoisolator: MOC3042
PCB size: 22.00×46.00mmIt is controlled by 3.3\5V logic. Is there a way to control this with the Duet 2 WiFi v1.04? Are there perhaps any diagrams and explanation on how to do this if it is?
Apologies if there is already something out there explaining how to do this, I have tried to find what I can before asking, but can't seem to find anything.

use a 3.3v output
connect fixed 3.3v or 5v to Signal and connect ground to the bed-
add a series resistor and connect it as if it was a 24v hot bed. -
So a buckdown convertor in other words? If I'm understanding you right?

Ok, managed to find an SSR locally that will work. Still interested to see if this would work and how to do it

A thyristor switch like that (with optically isolated input) by itself would only pass alternate half cycles of mains, so the bed heating power would be halved. You could use a bridge rectifier around it to make it work on both half cycles.

Its a chinesium "bidirectional thyristor" also known as a triac? MOC3042 handles the zero cross switching so it should be fine with a 10hz pwm input i recon?

If the output device really is a triac, then yes it should work as-is.
