HELP - BIG COREXY PROJECT WITH 4 (four) Z motors autonomous
Hello
I am new in the 3D printing world construction and after extensive research I found you.
I want to build a COREXY printer with a printable area equal 60cm x 60cm x 60cm
For this, I am thinking of putting on the elevation Z axis (4 motors) that would work independently.
Because I would like to develop a system that by calibrating a PROBE sensor it identifies the unevenness in the platform and corrects it with the automatic form adjustment sending commands to one of the 4 motors connected to the Z axis thus adjusting the platform level.
For in my humble opinion the worst task to accomplish is the calibration of the printing platform.
Another thing, I want to use a 1400w heated bed using a 110v SSL on to get the print area fast heating up.
Remembering that the printing platform can weigh up to 10kg on it.
Now comes my questions:
- Can DUET accomplish this task?
- If this is possible, could you please tell me which engines I will need to use in this configuration?
- Could you tell me which Duet accessories I need to buy too?

The Duet 3 main board is available to pre-order now, see https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/11540/duet-3-mainboard-6hc-initial-production-run. But it's intended for more demanding applications than yours. You will need at least 7 stepper drivers (4Z, 1X, 1Y and 1 extruder), which is one more than the Duet 3 main board provides. So you will need the 3-stepper expansion board, which exists in Prototype 2 form but isn't in production yet.
OTOH a Duet WiFi or Duet Ethernet + DueX2 (or DueX5 to leave room for further expansion) would be more than adequate for you machine, assuming the 2.4A peak motor current available on the Duet 2 is sufficient for the motors you intend to use. Driving 4 Z motors needs no more CPU time than driving 1, because of the way the code is written.
