Error: over temperature shutdown reported by driver(s) 3
-
Driver 3 is my extruder motor. I've tried several different motors now and the error keeps popping up. I've had trouble with this board since day one. First with the USB now with this driver.
-
Is the driver overheating? Motor current, cooling, encapsulation?

It's wired and crimped properly. Double and triple checked the wiring. It's all good. Motor current was set to .5 on a 1amp motor. Have dual fans in the control box with heatsinks on the drivers. -
Sounds like something you'd want @ dc42 to chime in on if the board is still under warranty, 0.5A should be unproblematic even without cooling.

Only thing I printed on this is Ninjaflex at 15mm a second. -
Sounds like a bad egg, but if you need to print while trying to sort out getting it replaced you could try using driver 4 / E1 instead (if its not in use that is).
-
@bearer
Tried that. The screen fills up with the error on driver 3, even when not in use. -
I'd suggest check if you're still covered by your suppliers warranty terms and tag dc42 to consider approving a replacement.

Bought if from Filastruder. Only had it 25 days. How do you tag someone? -
@ in front of the username (no space), like the forum does automatically when you reply to me. I'd do it, but its not really my place. I know they're busy, but should get his attention when he has the time.

@dc42 -
That error probably means a blown driver. if so then your Duet will be replaced under warranty. Does if give that error even when the motor is disconnected?
-
@dc42
Yes it does. -
Please ask Filastruder to replace your Duet. Either the driver chip has failed (if it really is hot), or it is not soldered down properly.
