Everything has been working fine for a long time, I was printing fine yesterday, but after the print had ended this fault just presented itself. I have obviously tried switching the unit on and off multiple times, but it always comes up with the error. I know the FW is old, but since its been working fine, I don't think its related

could be a blown vssa fuse.

disconnect all and connect one at a time to rule out shorting of the vssa line.

Yes, if your Duet is a revision 1.0 or 1.01 then with power off, use a multimeter to measure the resistance between VSSA on a thermistor pin and GND on an endstop pin. It should read no more than a few ohms. If instead it's very high, the VSSA fuse has blown, which will make all thermistors read 2000C.

Its a V1.01 board and that measurement is 60KOhm so guess the fuse has blown

Yes. Find and fix the short between thermistor wiring and something else that probably caused it to blow, then see https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connector_and_spare_part_numbers#Section_VSSA_fuse for how to replace or bypass the fuse.

Thanks for your help, have now applied full resettable fuse and 10K resistor fix. Funny though as could not find original fault.
Whilst fixing I have also recognised a further issue but as is unrelated I have created a new thread.

Hi @dc42, i have the same issue as mentioned above. can you eleborate how can i use a multimeter to verify if i have vssa fuse blown? i am pretty sure all wiring are ok and now i am getting open circuit error message. thanks a ton!
