Delta with a square bed?

Back when I was building my delta, I made it large enough to print 400mm round. For monetary reasons, only put in a 300mm round bed. Recently, broke the bed glass and had to replace it, but the only reasonably affordable bed I could find was a square 300mm x 300mm. I think the rest of the printer is capable of printing to the entire bed surface, but it's configured still as 300mm round, so I can't use the corners. Any way to tell the Duet 2 I have a delta with a square bed? Thanks in advance!

Currently you can only specify a bed radius on a delta. You can tell it that the radius is larger than 300mm if you want, then it's up to you to make sure you don't command the printer to move the effector too far in X or Y, or to probe outside the bed.
BTW if you have a heat spreader (e.g. aluminium sheet) between the heater and the glass, then you don't need to use expensive borosilicate glass. Ordinary 3mm or 4mm float glass from your local glass merchant will do. Ask the glass merchant to smooth the cut edges for safe handling. Float glass is usually very flat, but just occasionally you can get a warped piece. So ask your glass merchant to cut a few of them to size for you, and check them for flatness using a straight edge. I bought three 300mm diameter x 4mm beds and three 220mm square x 3mm beds from a local glass supplier for £20 a while ago, and all but one of them was flat.

Modelling the non-round bed and using it as a backdrop in f.ex. cura or simplify 3d might help you visually keep out of the unprintable area.

I have a 600mm (24") glass bed in a delta.
Nothing special about the glass. It is sold as a round tabletop for use with your legs/frame. Purchased from Amazon (US) for about $40. It is about 6mm thick. Heater is stuck to the back, no "spreader". Works GREAT.

You might like to take a look at Tom Sanladerer's latest video, about heated beds. His FLIR measurements clearly show the benefit of using a heat spreader.
