Wire selection - ferrule on solid core?

I am moving over a printer from Rambo to Duet. I have some solid core 14 awg in stock.
Would you put a Ferrule on a solid core?
What is the thickest wire gauge can the board accommodate?
PS.. Duet is awesome!

You don't need to put ferrules on solid core wires. The thickest wire the VIN and bed heater terminals will accommodate is a little over 3mm diameter, which would be about 9AWG.
