DWC - Characters allowed in filenames

I have noted that some characters that is accepted by Windows are causing confusion in the DWC when starting a print job. Upload seems to work well but once clicking on the file to print it, DWC throws an error message "File not found". For example, parenthesis is bad but square brackets seems OK.
Is this intentional/unavoidable or is it a bug?
What more characters causes this behaviour?I use DWC 1.2

Parentheses surround comments in standard NIST GCode, that is why they don't work in filenames. The workaround is for the filename to be enclosed in double quotes in GCode commands. I understand that DWC 1.21 will do this when it sends commands containing filenames. The same goes for semicolons.
