6HC - +5V LED is on despite external 5v Select jumper position
-
Based on the documentation, it's my expectation that powering the board without an external 5V source and with the external 5v select jumper removed, the 5v LED should be off. I've tried the jumper in all of the positions and the LED is always on.
I don't feel comfortable supplying 5V from an external supply until I understand this behavior.
Thoughts?

@micaheli If you have a version 1.02 (or 1.02a, 1.02b) of the 6HC then the internal 5V regulator is always supplied if VIN power is applied. The external 5V jumper allows you to electrically connect either the 5V external header, or the 5V SBC as additional input. There is a set of diodes providing protection to prevent back feeding.
The documentation was unclear on this because in older version we had a Int 5V enable jumper which is not on the v1,.02 and later boards.

@T3P3Tony Excellent, thanks for clearing that up.
