Issue flashing RepRap firmware 3.5 for Duet_MB6HC

I am trying to build and flash RepRap version 3.5 firmware onto my board but after flashing the firmware the board doesn't create a COM port anymore. I followed the build instructions on Github and the project builds without errors but the generated bin file doesn't seem to work and then I have to erase the flash and re-flash through Bossa with the 3.5.4 release bin from Github. Any advice for troubleshooting this problem would be much appreciated.

@40BelowJames does the standard Duet 3 MB6HC build run after flashing it with Bossa? When you reset the board after flashing your firmware, what does the red Status LED do?
