What is Laser power velocity ramping??
-
Hello all
Where can I read more in details about laser power velocity ramping??
Kindly share -
@adhanabal i believe it works with the implementation in lightburn. i've not tried it though
-
@jay_s_uk oh icee, that is for laser cutter application, how about SLS 3d printer application?
Is there any software I can use in the same way? -
@adhanabal not that i'm aware of. for using duet boards with DLP, RRF is only used for moving the parts of the printer about and not for controlling the actual printing of the parts
-
@adhanabal I suspect you mean laser power ramping. This refers to increasing the laser power as the XY speed increases, and reducing it as the speed reduces, for example at corners. RepRapFirmware does this automatically.
-
@dc42 ah, I was thinking of raster clustering
-
@dc42 oh i cee if use extruder output to control the laser , will it work?
Because I use simplyfi3d for slicing
And
M571 P"out9" F200 S255
In my config -

@adhanabal The system is very simple. If the velocity of the move is zero to begin with then the laser intensity will also be zero, as the laser head accelerates up to the requested move speed then the laser intensity value also increases in a linear fashion such that when/if full speed is reached the intensity will be the requested value. The same thing happens with deceleration. The recommended way to set laser intensity values is using the S parameter to G1 moves.
