      Does anyone know what type of steel is normally used for spring steel sheets? 400 series stainless?

        @breed I'd be interested to know this, too. I'd like to make an FR4/garolite sheet with a steel back, to attach to a magnetic bed.

          I bought a sheet of 430. It seems about right.
