Extruder randomly starts spinning backwards
-
Hello,
After some time of printing with my RatRig, I have faced an issue I have never seen before. Everything is doing great, but sometimes extruder spins backwards for a couple of seconds (I do have a video, but it's too big to upload here).Exact same problem happened on both of my printers and in the exact same spot (both printers are identical). At first I was thinking maybe the file is broken or something else, so I just rotated the model and this problem disappeared I have made a couple successful prints. Yet, I have started to print another model and the problem came back and I can not solve it. Changing the model orientation does not help anymore and now I suspect that it has something to do with the printer itself, not the slicing soft or the model.

@Arminas which board and firmware version are you using, and which slicer did you use to generate that file?
-
@dc42 It's Duet 3 mini 5+, RRF 3.5.0-beta.3. Slicer - Simplify3D 5.1
-
@Arminas upgrade to 3.5b4. its a known issue with beta 3

@dc42 While creating a discussion here, I have been trying to think what have I changed/upgraded lately and I have one most recent upgrade in mind - input shaper. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I have disabled the M593 command and so far the print looks good. Can this be the case?
-
@Arminas as i said, its a known issue in 3.5b3 in general due to the input shaper changes made
-
@jay_s_uk now that makes more sense, thank you!
-
@jay_s_uk One more question - now it shows "Incompatible software versions
The installed software versions do not match. Please operate your setup only at equal versions to avoid potential incompatibilities and unexpected errors." after I upgraded to 3.5.0-b4. Anything else I need to upgrade? -
@Arminas all boards need updating (so toolboards etc if you have any) and DWC also needs updating
-
@jay_s_uk case closed, thanks again
P.S. how do I mark this discussion as "solved"?
-
@Arminas topic tools top right. select ask a question and then do it again to mark as solved
i can do it for you this time -
