Sensorless homing with an Idex printer
-
how repeatable is the sensorless homing?
Does anyone have experience with this on an Idex printer?
I tried the sensorless homing on the x axis yesterday and am satisfied.
However, before I change all the axes and set the extruder offset, etc., I wanted to ask if there are any experiences in this regard -
@Proschi78 repeatability of sensorless homing is +-2 full steps (+-4 full steps in some cases). I wouldn't rely on it for multiple tool setups like idex or toolchangers.

@oliof OK thank you.
then it is better to apply it only on the y low and z high axis.
and to work with limit switches on the x and u axis -

and to work with limit switches on the x and u axisYes, and use a Z probe to establish where Z=0 is before printing.

@dc42 Sure, I use your IR probe for that
