NPN Z-Probe pin
-
An accident occurred
I had visit last weekend and some one accidently unplugged my NPN and re-plugged it backwards (Current went directly in the Z-Probe pin).
Roughly something blew up and my Z-Probe is now always triggered.I am using a Duet Wifi 2 and I wanted to know if I could use any other pin as a Z-Probe pin and also if I can what code would I have to change in my config file.
Thanks you

What firmware version are you using? What voltage is the NPN probe using? There are other pins you can use, but they may not be voltage tolerant enough. The zprobe pin is more tolerant than endstops for instance.

@phaedrux I am using 24V

@phaedrux I am using 24V on my printer but my NPN says 12-24v...
Also using the version:
Firmware Version: 2.02(RTOS) (2018-12-24b1)
WiFi Server Version: 1.26
Web Interface Version: 1.22.6 -
I don't think you're going to be able to use that probe with an endstop pin safely. Even with the newest revision board hardware the endstops are only 8v tolerant. So even at the low end of 12v for your probe, you would still exceed the endstop pin tolerance. The Z probe pin is 30v tolerant.
You would need to swap probes or find a way to safely drop the signal voltage from the probe.
What hardware version do you see on the silk screen of the PCB? 1.04 or higher?

@Phaedrux I got my hand on a new Bltouch...
can I use it or should I replace my board? -
BLTouch should work just fine.
