CoreXY carriage wiring management

Hi!
I'm thinking to use a flat ribbon cable to wire the carriage, making a vertical loop above it; any experience with such config, from a mechanical point of view?
I only need power and CAN, as I will use a Toolboard 1LC. For the power, I plan to connect several wires in // to handle the current. For CAN, I don't know if it requires special handling regarding to perturbations: is alternating signal/ground enough? Or should I use a shielded ribbon cable?

@fma for the CAN conductors, the ideal is twisted pair. You can get twisted pair ribbon cable. But I think you will be OK if you use ordinary ribbon cable with the two CAN conductors next to each other and ground conductors on both sides.

Signals and supply for IC's. If you really need to transmit more than some milli amps, use one of the numerous calculators on the web.

@fma I used a flex ribbon in a printer several years ago. The cable came from a tape library robot. The printer is still in use and working perfectly. The only problem with it is interfacing to it at the ends. I ended up wiring a couple perf board circuits with screw terminals and headers. I had to double up some of the traces to ensure it would handle the current to the hot-end heater, and I think I used 4 traces for grounding.

Nice! I found on some datasheets that a ribbon cables can handle up to 1A, in free air. So, yes, using 2 wires for the power supply should be ok.
