RRF Update to 3.3 just killed my FW
-
Can you send m122 and share the results?
-
@phaedrux Attached.
In the meantime the PanelDue is a 5.0i but it does not seem to want to update via the Duet. It's 3 years old. Think I'll need to remove it from it's containment and hit a resent button?M122

I think you'll need to update it's firmware via usb as well so that it can communicate with RRF3 as well. I think the latest firmware is 3.4 for the paneldue. I think once you have it up to date with the firmware you'll actually be able to update it via DWC in the future.
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/PanelDue_Firmware_update#Section_Firmware_update_via_USB
It looks like your main firmware and wifi firmware are up to date now. Can you confirm that DWC is also at 3.3?
-
@phaedrux Right. I'm already there.
Bossa does not work in the latest MacOS.
I'm forced to find a ... PC.BTW where do I find the DWC version?
-
@andy-cohen to get Bossa working on macOS, see this thread: https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/11445/
Find DWC version in DWC on system page, general tab https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_Web_Control_v2_and_v3_(DWC)_Manual#Section_General_tab

DWC is at 3.3.
Found a PC and updated the PanelDue. The update worked but it does not see the tools nor does it operate anything. My bet is I have to add a line in the config... right? -
@andy-cohen Yup!
All seems to be working fine for now.
I'm really not looking forward to updating my Toolchanger! -
This post is deleted! -
@andy-cohen This update FUBARED my machine. WHY was SO much changed?
Now I cannot control the tool from the PanelDue. I get constant messages about commands that no longer work WTF!
The tool definition makes no sense at all to me!
I cannot see how the Extruder is associated with the tool AT ALL!!! -
@andy-cohen said in RRF Update to 3.3 just killed my FW:
M563 P1 ; Define tool 1
This tool has no extruder or heater assigned to it. Perhaps that's your issue? You didn't mention which tool you're trying to control.
Can you share a recent config.g?
PanelDue is up to date now? DWC is at 3.3 as well?
-
@phaedrux When I try to retract at the hotend from the panel it does nothing. Then the panel becomes unresponsive. I cannot believe how frustrating this is! Why so many changes?

How many tools do you have? one or two?
Can you share your config from RRF2?I understand you're frustrated, but it's really not as devastating and you're making it out to be. Answer my questions and we'll get you back up and running.
The upgrade isn't forced and you can go back if you wish.
-
@phaedrux I have one. The code there is taken from the old config. When I put in what came out of the web app it does not work at all.
This is what was generated by the web app:
; Tools
M563 P0 D0 H1 F0 ; define tool 0
G10 P0 X0 Y0 Z0 ; set tool 0 axis offsets
G10 P0 R0 S0 ; set initial tool 0 active and standby temperatures to 0C -

G10 P1 X35 Y0 Z0 ; Set tool 1 axis offsets
G10 P1 R0 S0 ; Set initial tool 1 active and standby temperatures to 0CIf you only have a single tool remove this section for tool1 then.
Does the extruder move when at temp?
@andy-cohen said in RRF Update to 3.3 just killed my FW:
I get constant messages about commands that no longer work WTF!
Can you be more specific? What do the messages actually say? What commands?
Can you confirm that the PanelDue is up to date now by checking it's version on the setup page?
-
@phaedrux OK... I will rem those lines out.
The messages were as follows:
"Error Tool 0 not found"
"Error: Attempting to Extrude with no tool selected"
There were more but I lost them. -
@phaedrux I remmed out the lines and rebooted.
The PanelDue shows the extruder icon with a Zero next to it(it used to show a "1").
I set the temp and heat it up. I select the Icon button so it's highlighted and I then go to the button to extrude some filament and hit extrude and nothing happens -
Can you add
T0
to the end of your config.g so that the first tool is selected at startup? -
Can you send M98 P"config.g" and post the results?
-
@phaedrux said in RRF Update to 3.3 just killed my FW:

The T0 on the last line is a good idea. I have that on my TC config. Trying now.Date Event

@phaedrux So it will now extrude on command using the Extrude dialog on the PanelDue. Why it would not manually select IO have no clue, but the highlight on the button went on when selected.
BTW I was able to capture the message that flys by. Turns out it repeats over and over...
"Warning: Obsolete use of S parameter on G1 command. Use H parameter instead"
Looks like a good clue!
