Wiring advice for accelerometer on delta
-
Hello!
So, I am thinking about fitting my delta (Duet 2 WiFi, Smart Effector, Revolving magnet filament sensor, 100cm vertical extrusions) with an accelerometer. But not sure about how to best solve wiring. I know that connection is sensitive for capacitive factors and EMI in general.
I have also found posts where people seem to use "repurposed" USB3 cables for this task. ( https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/22878/software-package-3-3beta3-released/54?_=1621606715168 )
So, basically, what's the best practice / known to work for this really? Is using a USB3 extension cable the best way to go? Is there a more suitable cable available to purchase, as I am not really looking forward to trying to crimp somehting onto the very thin cables used by most cords.

@janjoh on my Duet WiFi-powered delta, I used ordinary 8-core multicore cable, the same sort I used for the 8-pin connector on the Smart Effector. The Duet WiFi is a little more tolerant of poor cabling than the Duet 3 Mini because it doesn't have a protection resistor in series with the output that feeds CS on the accelerometer.

Oh, thankyou! That is quite helpful!
So, you don't even have twisted pairs for this connection? (Or said another way, what type cable? I just hate having to tear down my machine to much with cabling, so I try to minimize those excursions )
