Duet 2 mounted inside heated enclosure
-
New owner here, going to replace my MakerGear M2 RevE Rambo with the Duet 2. I don't do production work so max run time may be all day for multiple jobs. Question is, do I mount this on the printer where the Rambo board lived so it is self-contained, or extend all the wiring outside the heated enclosure? The enclosure is kept at 100-110 F during abs printing. Rambo board has never had an issue so assume that Duet will be the same? Anyone have actual experience with a Duet in a heated enclosure, good or bad? Am considering connectors so the printer can be removed from the enclosure without touching the board connections. Best of both worlds would be a set of connectors wired up so I could switch between boards if need be, then the Duet could be outside and the printer would also retain Stock board if needed. Just not sure it is worth the extra cost, labor and additional points of failure, since in 3 years the printer has never left the enclosure and I would never sell it.
Thanks in advance! -
If 40-45c is the hottest the enclosure will get, it will likely be ok, though you may want to have some airflow over the front and back of the board if possible. Is the enclosure actively heated or passively heated by the bed?

@phaedrux I will have the board in a printed enclosure with active cooling fan like the Rambo. The enclosure has a small heater but is undersized on it's own but when the bed is set to 110C it keeps it at 100F with thermostatic control.
