Faulty Toolboard 1LC v1.1?

Re: Faulty Toolboard 1LC V1.1?
Hi.
I've updated my printer to RepRapFirmware for Duet 3 MB6HC version 3.4.0beta6
everything worked perfect up to one point when I didn't have any readings from extruder thermistor and the BlTouch didn't deploy anymore. I used my Flir camera and i noticed that there is a 100degrees Celsius hot spot on the tool board.
there is anything that I can do?image url)

@silviuz thats the 5V voltage regulator. Please try with the BL touch unplugged. I suspect there is a short between 5V and ground.
-
@t3p3tony
thank you for the reply
I unplugged everything and still same problem -
@silviuz thanks for testing that. Had the board been in use for long before the fault occured?
-
@t3p3tony I've used the board for around 500 hours of printing without any hardware change. It was perfect. And the printer was going up to 450mm/s.
It didn't had any possible short 5v/30v to the ground
the printer head is not conductive and I've used the plastic washers. Something weird happened. -
@silviuz it looks like you have a second hotspot:
Its hard to tell because the FLIR overlay on the optical image is shifted down. it looks to me like this is actually the stepper motor driver chip and zooming in on that image:
looks like there is damage visible on the top of that IC.
How long did it print for after upgrading to 3.4b6?
-
@t3p3tony ive printed a vase for 4 hours. Then i done some cleaning and weekly maintenance of the printer. I started the printer and tried to home all and the BlTouch extended the pin but no Z homing.
Flir one doesn't like close images and it's not possible to align the image correctly.
I noticed that spot on the driver and I didn't believe that could be damaged. My bad.
There is no way to save this board. Correct? -
@silviuz I think its very likely that something caused the driver to get damaged in a way that is now shorting 5V to ground internal to the board.
-
@t3p3tony thank you. I bought a replacement and nothing else was damaged.
