Z axis not homing
-
Hi there,
Im having issues with my z homing. i repeatedly get this
Error: in file macro line 5: M280: parameter 'P' too high
I noticed that there was no M401 code in the homingall.g anyway i tried to manually put M401 into the console and it gave me the same error message.
Can someone help me out on this?
-
@prior123 it's probably your deployprobe.g that has an issue
-
@jay_s_uk so this is my deployprobe.g.

M280 P64 S10 ; deploy BLTouchcan you see anything?
-
@prior123 the P64 looks very odd. What number have you defined in your config?
-
Ive just changed it to
M280 P0 S10 ; deploy BLTouch
and seem to have worked however now the x axis is making a horrible noise and the same error message come out. however it does say its fully homed. Im properly confused now
-
@prior123 have you got the x axis travelling further than total axis travel?
If it fails to find the endstops on the first move but finds it on the second, that's usually when you get that message -
-
Sorry to keep on but im now having an issue where the BOLD line isnt being read. The printer just keeps the x and Y axis by the end stops

;G1 X-100 Y-50 F6000 ; go to first bed probe point and home Z

if i put my finger in to make the printer think its homed the Z axis (on home all) im still getting this error too
G28

@prior123 can your printer even reach X-38 Y-10?
Post your config.g -
@prior123 you may also want to check your retractprobe.g as well

@jay_s_uk This has stopped the warning sign! thank you
-
@prior123 all sorted now?
-
the homing error is fixed but the x and y positioning when homing the Z via home all isnt working
-
@prior123 because you're in absolute mode. Surely X-38 Y-10 is off your bed or even outside your axis limits
-
@jay_s_uk so should i comment out that line then? sorry im pretty unknown when it comes to programming
-
@prior123 well where do you want the nozzle to move to when you do the G30?
-
@jay_s_uk probably X-60 and Y-10
But i just changed that in the homeall.g and it doesnt seem to be doing anything
-
@prior123 how? That's way outside your bed limits set in M208 in your config
