Solved PanelDue has washed out colors
-
Any ideas? Should I consider it dead? Any possibility this could be covered by warranty?
-
How long ago did you purchase it?
From whom did you purchase it?The Duet3D warranty policy is here: https://www.duet3d.com/warranty
-
Can you confirm which firmware was flashed? Would life to verify that it's the correct firmware for the Panel.
Also, can you check carefully for any bridged solder connections? Possibly post a close up photo of the PCB areas front and back.
-
I have flashed it multiple times with the firmware and the problem persist. The original panel was purchased from Printedsolid.com on 1/11/2019 and had to be warranty replaced on 2/28/2019 after it stopped working.
Here is a picture of the back of the panel.

Based on the description, with the correct firmware (it started to fail during normal operation rather than during a firmware update, correct?), and nothing visible on the PCB showing bridged pins, it would seem to be a failure with the LCD panel itself. Unfortunately it is also out of warranty. Options at this point, you can try contacting roland@duet3d.com to inquire about a possible discounted refurbished unit on exchange, or attempting to replace the LCD, which I recall others have done in the past.

It happened to me ..exactly same colors!
But it appeared after i flashed the latest firmware...missing red channel.
PanelDuet 7
I have tried to download/reflash several times...no luck.
What can i do?
Thank you

@mdalacu Can you post a photo of the setup tab which shows the color gradient? Your photo looks a bit different.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Out of the blue after booting up yesterday it looked like this. I updated my duet, erased and reflashed the paneldue and it looks the same. No loose connections to be found. Tapping around on everything changes nothing, so not an intermittent connection.
There was never any solution for this, so I assume I have to just buy a new one?
-
@jevs, did you do any updates? Usually this problem appears, when you flash the wrong firmware for the wrong hardware.
-
@mfs12 No. I updated everything after it failed to see if it would help. It did not. I just turned it on one day and it looked like that.
-
@jevs can you send a picture of it while on, with the washed out colours please?
-
@t3p3tonym/
-
@jevs if the board is <1 year old then we will authorise a warranty replacement. please email warranty@duet3d.com to initiate the process.
-
@t3p3tony Unfortunately it is older than that. The printer has low usage, but I have had it longer. I only use it once or so every few months.
-
@jevs have a look how it looks with the different dark modes

For anyone finding this and looking for an answer, this is a part failure in my case. Mine started working again today, but then went out again. Intermittent.
