Probably if changing the 3.3v regulator might be back on track...post a pic of the board!can you identify if something is burned on the board? -
@masso, we may be able to get your board repaired. Is there any sign of damage to U3, the small square chip? Which country are you in?

I’ll inspect the board tomorrow with a fresh pair of eyes.
I can work on the board myself, got the tools for it, but only basic electronics knowledge.
I’m a mechanical guy, but I do some electronics repair work for my car projects where possible (basic electronics microscope, rework station and such).

I shouldn’t be surprised, you guys probably designed and built this board, the U3 chip definitely blew it’s top. I’ve successfully soldered way smaller than that, should be no problem, may the flux be with you….
I’ll check the forum for chip type and look where I can source one. If that’s all (hopefully) all will be ok and the bang will end up to be “sisser” as we say in Holland

Hi guys, sorry to bother again, after fun printing for a few months, extruder started clogging horribly.
Turns out Fan1 (set to extruder as per instructions) is not working correctly anymore.
Fan is always on and turning slow instead of from 50C and up.
Fan does not power up to speed anymore either.
Without load I measure 20.7v immediately after turning on, but judging from slow fan speed upon load the voltage drop is significant, definitely not 20.7v. I tried different fans, same result.
What's probably busted? Component TR9 right under Fan1?
How can I troubleshoot?Thanks!

@masso it could be the fan mosfet however this is odd

the mosfet switches the ground not the supply, so the V_FAN voltage should be V_IN (or 5V if you have it jumpered that way but that does not sound like the issue)
You have tried a different fan - how about a different fan port. As a test you can plug into the always on fan output (just a convenient header to five the FAN VIN and ground.

@t3p3tony Thanks Tony, I think I fried more than the U3 chip when I made a mistake, I'm going to move up to fan2 and reconfigure, if that doesn't work, I'll buy a duet3 5+ mini and install that.
This board will then become a hobby board.
