Homing works, but repeats endlessly (mostly)

I'm not exactly sure what's going on. 12v VIN should be within range for the motors to move, so that error message is a little concerning. I've asked DC42 to take a look when he is able.
-
It was trying to home before but looping, and how you've got a VIN out of range error? What transpired immediately before that error?
-
@phaedrux I tried the three methods you shared trying to bring DSF in line with RFF on the duet3. First the missing files, and then the bossa flash of the board via USB- I tried from the Pi and it failed, so I flashed it with bossa from a windows box. It completed and verified.
-
And it looks like the firmware was properly applied and the pi is now in sync.
Can you show a photo of the board powered up showing the LEDs that are lit?
Is the Duet powering the Pi? or the Pi powering the Duet? Or are they independently powered?
-
@phaedrux sure just one sec- the Pi is powered by an official adafruit rPi power supply with an added "Pi switch" so I can power it off individually. Taking a pic, just a minute...
-
@phaedrux oh, and the duet 3 is powered by a 12v 360w psu.
-
@b3njam1n I can see the V_FUSED LED is not lit, and it should be. Can you check the main fuse? It’s the one nearest the power input side of the terminal.

@droftarts I pulled each of the two blue blade fuses by the shielded power strip, tested each for continuity, and both passed. Are there test points where I could get meter readings that would help in your diagnosis?
-
Would you be able to remove the board entirely and get a good clear well lit shot of the board with close ups in case we can spot a damaged component?
-
@phaedrux Yes, absolutely, but I am not at home at the moment. I will put it on a contrasting background and take several shots with different lighting at the highest resolution I can to get the final under the upload size cap. It might be few hours, though.

@phaedrux just let me know if you want a close look at any specific part of the board, and I will get another image to you quickly. Here are some shots from different angles that should do the trick:

@phaedrux can you please boost me to a 1 reputation so I don't have to wait 60 secs between posts?

and again, I will gladly visit a specific spot on the board if you would like.
-
Is that a strand of wire on the board near driver 4?
-
@phaedrux It is- wow, good eye. I had to really look for it. I have removed it, but I wonder if it was having any effect. Can I plug everything back in and see if there is any change?
-
Yes you can. Use some compressed air if you have some.
-
Just for the forum/record I removed the strand of wire, dusted with compressed air, reconnected all the cables and powered up the D3/Pi. I still have 3.8 at v12, and V_fused my LED is not lit.
