The M122 report shows that there were no driver comms timeout errors this time.
Your M569 report shows that you are running drivers 0 and 1 in stealthChop mode with tpwmthrs set to zero, so that the drivers will never change over to spreadCycle. This means that you will get issues above some speed threshold. So the travel bang and mini bangs may just be caused by running too fast in stealthChop mode.
Can you try the same print in spreadCycle mode?

Run in stealthChop all the time, and set the maximum speed low enough that stealthChop doesn't cause any problems. My guess is that this is what the Prusa printers do when you print in silent mode. You will need to execute a good tuning procedure during homing to ensure good steathChop calibration so that it works well enough at speed. You risk getting a layer shift if the print head hits a blob or overhang, because in stealthChop mode there is little torque reserve at the higher speeds.

My preference is to set a very low speed for switching over, to get the benefit of low standstill noise without losing torque while printing. As long as microstep interpolation is enabled, the motors should be fairly quiet anyway, except at mid-band resonance speeds. The firmware default is tpwmthrs (aka M569 V parameter) = 4000, which corresponds to a speed of 4.7mm/sec on a Cartesian printer with 80 steps/mm.

If in doubt, run in spreadCycle mode (D2 parameter in the M569 command) until any motion problems have been eliminated, and only then try using stealthChop.

Stealthchop was only utilized during homing for stallguard as machine has no mechanical endstops. Its then forced into Spreadcycle. The issues is just as pervasive in Forced Spreadcycle as it is in stealthchop.
OP produced M112 prior to home / after home / and during print - the diag tool told us it was in spreadcycle mode before homing / in stealthchop during and immediately after homing op's / and then in Spreadcycle mode during print.
Not sure if we screwed something up with parameters and settings but - we couldnt find the issue.

Yes, I am aware that the original problem occurred when the drivers were reported as being in spreadCycle mode by M569. I would like to know whether in that same scenario, the problem still occurs using the updated firmware that I made available this evening.
