Paneldue5" kills VIN
-
When I connect the panel due to duett2 VIN dropps dramatically, and DUETT2 refuses to run any motors.
Without the panel VIN according to webinterface is 12V
When the panel is connected VIN dropps to 8,5V
Powersupply measures to 12V regardles.
So, whats wrong, and how do I fix it? -
What happens if you connect PanelDue via USB?
(disconnected from the printer) -
@TomasL Does PanelDue work normally?
Do not connect PanelDue to the computer. It can damage your usb port. Max current is 500mA.Let's use multimeter to check VIN and GND is shorted.
-
how are you donnecting due paneldue?
did you try the 4 pin cable?

That's how I reprogram the PanelDue each time.
I've never had a problem doing it.If your PC does not have USB over current protection built in I guess it could cause a problem if you short something on the PanelDue, but just plugging it in to reprogram it shouldn't be a problem at all.
The 7" paneldue draws 650 mA so that might trip an overcurrent on some PCs.

That's true; but normally it just causes the PC or laptop to shut off power to the USB port.
-
@dc42 I should have said "... might trip the USB overcurrent sensing on some PCs..."
That would have been more clear.

Well, since I am a brilliant engineer, I dont need to read any documentation, since everything is perfectly clear, well, not so.
I managed to put the ribbon vable in the wrong connectore, moving it from "LCD" to SD" solved the thing. -
Ha ha!
I've done things like that also.
When I really try, I can get a USB keyboard plugged into the HDMI connector on my laptop.
