Best choice for runnout and jam

Please suggest for best runout sensor that also registers a jam in the hotend

@ziggymanpopo Duet3D manufacture both a laser and magnetic sensor, which will detect underextrusion/jams. Both also have an input for a microswitch, which can be used as a runout sensor. See:

If you just need a runout sensor, a simple microswitch mounted in a printed case will suffice.

So my research shows that the laser sensor can be less accurate about false pauses according to what ive read due to diferance in the filament materials.
But the magnetic sensor does not fail because of direct motion caused by the filaments movement so would it be fair to say the magnetic sensor would give the most consistantly results ??? And is a clearly better choice??? Why would in ne still pick the laser over thr magnetic duet runout sensor ??? This might be a dumb question but if i caught this all right,,,A unnamed Ukrainian manufacturing co. Recently gave up on their laser version because of light contamination???? Any truth to that?? The light contamination
I also have a question if this unit is puchased asembled and tested. thabks in advance -
The magnetic sensor is more reliable across a range of filament types. The laser sensor works.well.with some filaments and very badly with others. If you regularly print with a range of filaments or with filaments that don't work well with the laser (like PETG) then it's not a good choice.
The magnetic sensor has more components so this more expensive. It is sensitive to housing design which is why it is out of stock right.now as we wait for new housings to be made.

@ziggymanpopo I find the laser monitor works well with indirect sensing. I adapted a housing developed by others (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3717158) ; this approach pretty filament agnostic, and with the calibration parameter in the 3.2b1 M591command gives excellent results. On my 1.01 duet wifi it works best on the lcd_conn with a shielded cable.
