I made a new Paneldue
-
nice. can you post a video on youtube of it in action?
-
Okay, I havenโt registered it yet,
-
also note that the new beta of paneldue is starting to use the json format
see

@Veti Thanks, I will test version 3.2
-
Are you associated with Mellow? I see some interesting products there. For example this short path metal extruder
-
@zapta He is my friend. Some of the products I made are sold by him, but I am not posting this for him. I will post this video on YouTube as soon as possible.
-
600MHz RISC + 64MB RAM - no wonder it is just flying :). This panel could handle all RRF on its own
-
arm9 for display, interesting choice but https://github.com/FLYmaker/FLY-Screen is empty, what's the FLY philosophy, you are going to release firmware sources or only the hex files ?
-
@FLY It would be great if you can release the source of the firmware! So people can create own skins etc for it!
Great Stuff tho!
-
@arhi yeah, this isn't any more interesting to me than a normal 3d printer tft unless it's open source. BigTreeTech took MKS' cake with their open source screens (and dual / triple mode) -- which allowed for a more RRF friendly fork, and I expect every incumbent to the control screen market to be at least as good as that.
So yes @FLY -- can we expect you to get the firmware source code?
-
tbh pushing the source makes this a rather interesting platform to work with, with few gpio pins and spi bus available alongside the serial port and I see myself getting this for all different projects unrelated to 3d printing as arm9 board with decent screen and capacitive sensor for 30eur is totally good deal for number of projects... without source on the other hand, not that interesting, that's why I'm asking. I see the github project setup is done so..
@oliof for me, without source, it's useless gadget, with source, can be a great tool for both 3d printers and other stuff too ... didn't follow up those prc smart screens, I got one mks tft32 or something like that, it was buggy as hell and without source so I thrown it into a box with other useless stuff, you are saying someone opened that firmware now or that btreetech came up with similar screens but opened the source?
-
@arhi said in I made a new Paneldue:
btreetech came up with similar screens but opened the source?
bigtreetech made their own version with a touchscreen with sources
https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-TouchScreenFirmware -
@oliof This screen is a product I bought from another company, and I wrote the 3D printing control program into it. If I release the source code, other 3D printing companies in our country will directly copy my code, and my ideas will become someone else's. The fly team is very small, when we become stronger, I will definitely open source the source code
-
@arhi This link is where I post the new upgrade firmware
-
-
@FLY fair enough, but this forum is not advertising space for closed source products our community cannot collaborate with you on.
I hope you reconsider your choice about releasing the firmware source.
